Dorothy is Of Counsel to the firm and practices in the areas of estate planning and related tax planning, estate and trust administration, probate matters and probate disputes, and succession planning for small businesses. Among her clients are trustees of on-going, currently funded trusts and executors of estates whom Dorothy advises on legal matters affecting the trusts or estates. She also represents individuals ranging from those of modest wealth to the very affluent in planning for the protection of their assets and for the well-being of their families.

A 1968 graduate of Barnard College, Columbia University, Dorothy obtained her Juris Doctor cum laude from Boston University School of Law in 1977. She is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and in New Hampshire and to the United States District Courts in both states.

Dorothy practiced in New Hampshire from 1977 to 1993 when she joined a mid-sized Boston firm to manage its trusts and estates practice. Her New Hampshire practice included not only estate planning and trust matters, but also serving as legal counsel to the City of Somersworth, representing an independent telephone company in regulatory and business matters, and presenting cases before the New Hampshire Supreme Court. However, since 1993, she has limited her practice to estate and business planning and related matters.

While in New Hampshire, Dorothy served as secretary of the New Hampshire Estate Planning Council for nine years and as the attorney representative member of the Probate Court Forms Committee. She has lectured extensively for New Hampshire Continuing Legal Education and for the National Business Institute on estate planning and probate topics. She is an active member of the Democratic Party, the Massachusetts AMICUS division of the American Civil Liberties Union, and United Way and participates in fund-raising for charities that promote artistic development in Boston's inner city schools.

She is a member of the American, Boston and New Hampshire Bar Associations, the Boston Estate Planning Council, the Boston Tax Council, and the Massachusetts Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.
